1. Schools are seperated into local school districts, which there are over 14,000 in the US. They are funded by mostly state and local institutions, and get little money from the national level. Some schools are underfunded, depending on how well a district is funded by their local institutions. What a school is like varies depending on what school district you look at, because depending on how much money they have. Some schools are severely undefunded and don’t even have enough money for new textbooks, while others have enough money to buy whatever they want.
2. America as a nation is also known as, "the melting pot" of the world. Since the birth of our nation individuals from other countries have fled to this land in search opportunity. Because of this we have a created a nation full of diversity. One cannot classify a typical American under physical characteristics. Because of this, the students who fill our classrooms come from all parts of the world. They range in age, knowledge, language, and ethnicity. 53% of students are white, 24% are Latino, 15% African American, 6% multiracial, and 5% Asian. But all have one intended goal. America's students are a diverse population working towards an academic degree in the field of their choice.
3. Most of our teachers are highly educated in their field, and are looking to be further educated. 9 out of 10 are white, and 8 out of 10 are female. The percentage of teachers who are africn american is ever declining since the 1970’s. Teachingis a very important but highly stressful job, and 46% of new teaches leave within the first 5 years.

I think you captured both the good and the bad about your schools in the U.S. But is there anything you can do about the funding or making teachers stay? It surprised me to see that many teachers leave in their first years in the field...you would think if they really loved what the do, something would make them stay.
You answered the questions nicely. Have you considered why the teachers do not match the US population, i.e. why the majority of the teachers are white female?
Thank you very much for your information about your schools. I was highly informed with the honest facts of your schools, the positives and negatives. I am pleased to be informed of the diversity in your schools. It is unfortunate however that not all schools get the same financial treatment. Is there not anyway the government could better fund the less funded schools so that there would be more of a balance among them?
This is great information. One tthing that i cant understand is how come the money is not distributed out evenly throughout the schools?
I really enjoyed your post and I found it very informative. You covered a lot of information about the school systems in America. I can't help but wonder though, why are so many of your teachers white females and why do so many teachers leave after a few short years? WHo are the teachers that stay, and why do they stay?
I enjoyed your group's outlook on this because it was short but to the point. As a martian, I am still wondering why someone, such as the national level, does not step in when some schools unfairly do not even have enough money for textbooks while others are spending it on anything and everything they want. I am also wondering why teaching is such a stressful job and what makes these teachers leave their professions in such a short time. Other than that, I think as a martian I would feel extremely comfortable in this diverse melting pot of a place. :)
I think you did a good job with your summary but one statement stood out for me.
"But all have one intended goal. America's students are a diverse population working towards an academic degree in the field of their choice."
I disagree with this. I do not think all students are working towards the same goal. Most students do not even pursue college degrees after completing high school. Many students don't even have that option. Some students are learning goal orientated and want to learn for the sake of obtaining knowledge. Some students are performance goal orientated and work to get good grades. Some students are not motivated at all. I think students work towards many different goals.
